Wild North Atlantic groundfish

Wild whitefish from the cold North Atlantic — the groundfish our members land off Cape Breton, supplied frozen and processed to your specification.

Frozen wild North Atlantic groundfish portions

Overview

Groundfish — the bottom-dwelling whitefish of the North Atlantic — have been part of this fishery for generations. After the historic groundfishery declined, the Co-op rebuilt around shellfish, but our members still land groundfish, and we process and supply it to buyers who want genuine wild Canadian whitefish.

We supply groundfish frozen, in whole, headed-and-gutted (H&G) and filleted forms to your specification. Landed daily and quality-tested in-house, it carries the same traceability and food-safety standards as the rest of our catch.

Groundfish species and volumes are seasonal and quota-managed, so availability varies — contact our team to confirm current species, forms and landings for your programme.
